  In today’s technology obsessed world, social media and networking has become an important part of daily life. Social networks are websites and phone apps that allow people to create a personal profile, upload pictures of their life, update their status, and share information. Let’s look at some of the advanta ges and disadvantages surrounding social networks.

One of those advantages is that social networking can possibly be the number one way that people met new friends or romantic partners in today’s society. Second of all, social networking allows you to connect with entire groups of people who are interested in the same things as you, helping to grow friendships and enrich lives. At last, social networking can be an outlet for them to share their ideas and thoughts with other people in a comfortable environment.

Besides that, social networks can be very dangerous. They take time away from other activities and can take over from real time interaction, and magnifiethe gap between people who have access to computer technology and those that don't, and finally they can become a venue for bullying.

Advantages and Disadvantages of the Social Network

   

The internet is the most usable creation of the twenty first century and it has got lots of advantages and disadvantages.

Advantages:

In our opinion there are more advantages than disadvantages, for example ; you can access without leaving the house and without much effort, to any kind of information you want via google or any other search engine. And you can have these informations instantly, you can also, connect with people in a few seconds for free , via skype or online messaging, people are making friends and relationships via those sites. In addition, the fact you can get the information you need anytime, anywhere.

Disadvantages:

The disadvantages of this new technology, there is false and untrue information on the internet and you can easily be fooled by it. There is also people that have fake identities, and that will harm you in any way possible by posting fake information about themselves, and trick you by believing them and then they could kidnap you or much worse. This is a very dangerous and serious situation. By spending a lot of time inside the house surfing the net, you become lazy and a couch potato that’s why you shouldn’t get addicted to it, and practice physical activities instead (like sports

Social media is an internet-based form of communication. It was invented to make communicating and sharing information much easier for users around the world. There are many forms of social media including blogs, wikis, instant messaging, and others.

When used properly, social medias can be useful for learning new things by searching for information. It can also help develop your interests by looking up for new trends that everyone is into. You can meet new people and make new friends when you chat online. Online shopping is popular and a lot of users buy things from the internet, it can be much cheaper and a lot faster, and you can find a lot of varieties and choices within minutes. You can do all of this by a simple click while you’re at home.

On the other hand, users can become addicted to it if they spend a lot of time using social medias.  It can also cause their separation from the real world and they will rather stare at a screen instead of hanging out with people. Users will get lacks of emotional connections and become lazy.  Social medias can lead to distractions and can cause headaches, plus give you a bad back and deteriorate your eyes

Parents have an important role in watching their kids and warn them about the dangers of the internet and especially social medias. They should supervise them and be strict when it comes to spending most of the time staring at a screen.

Advantages and disadvantages of Social Networking Sites.

Social Networking sites are one of the most common and best ways of communication with people around the world. Some of its advantages are, sharing news or images and videos for the world to see, researching facts and results of different projects, making marketing way easier, or entertaining, like gaming and live streaming of a show for example. Moreover, education is available in many more ways.
But SN (social network) sites do have some downfalls which might be spamming, viruses  or cyberbullying. SN could also lead to social isolation, or crimes committed by hackers  around the world. Last but not least, family ties are disrupted because of spending too much time on these sites.

 CYBERBULLYING

SN (social networks) sites have many advantages, but that doesn’t mean that they are short of downsides. One of these drawbacks is a colossal problem: cyberbullying.

Cyberbullying is the use of electronic communication to bully a person, typically by sending messages of an intimidating or threatening nature. Some people seem believe that cyberbullying isn’t as serious and harmful as typical face-to-face bullying. It is, if not more. Cyberbullying doesn’t stop after you leave school, it follows you home, so you have to deal with it 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Moreover, there’s no way out of it, no escape or safe place to hide from your bully (or bullies) who may not even be identified, attacking people anonymously, sitting comfortably behind a screen.

But one thing cyberbullying and bullying have in common: it can cause severe mental damage, such as:

·        Anxiety

·        Depression

·        Anorexia

·        Withdrawal from friends and activity

·        Change in mood and behavior

·        Insomnia and stress

·        Low self esteem

These damages can often lead to a crucial consequence: suicide. Some targets will stop valuing their lives and seek death to put an end to the suffering and misery.

            Cyberbullying is a major issue that needs to be addressed: Do not cyberbully, directly or indirectly. Do not turn a blind eye on cyberbullying. Report it:

       

 

And if you are ever a victim of cyberbullying, talk about it with a responsible adult you have trust in, don’t bottle up your feelings and push everyone away. Don’t be embarrassed about it and most importantly, don’t worry about what people will say. They may call you petty and claim that you can’t take a joke (by the way, cyberbullies will try to brush off their harassing you as a joke, don’t let them),

And never forget: the reason you’re being bullied has nothing to do with you, the one with problems is the bully.
